Create the box
Start with a simple box or rectangular solid. Set the dimensions you want and orbit the camera so the top face is easy to work on.
Create your first simple CAD part directly in the browser: make a box, create an offset contour, modify it with Push/Pull, then finish the model with chamfers and fillets.
YouTube loads only after you click.Start with a simple box or rectangular solid. Set the dimensions you want and orbit the camera so the top face is easy to work on.
Select the top face and use the Offset tool. Move the new contour inward and enter an exact distance if needed. This creates a second closed profile inside the box.
Activate Push/Pull and grab the new inner region. Pull it downward to create a recess and enter the exact depth you want.
Select a suitable model edge and add a chamfer. Adjust the amount until the sharp corner is cleanly beveled.
Select other edges and add a fillet. This softens sharp transitions and is useful for finishing many 3D-printing parts.
Orbit around the model and inspect the offset, recess, chamfer and fillet from several angles. You can then continue modeling or export the part as STL.
